“Coming” watercolor 2009 18x24-private collection
This is the final piece of the Feet of Christ series. The skies are bright with dawn as Christ describes Himself in Revelation 22:16 as the Bright and Morning Star. His feet walk upon a cloud-like surface, “Look, He is coming with the clouds and every eye will see Him.”(Revelation 1:7) Hidden in the design are the Greek letters Alpha and Omega from verse 8 that says, “I am the Alpha and Omega’ says the Lord God, “ who was, who is, and who is to come, the Almighty.” In verse 15 His feet are “like bronze glowing in a furnace.” In the Alpha symbol are seven stars describes as being in Christ’s right hand. In the Omega, is the double edged sword coming out of His mouth. His face is shining like the sun and that is referenced by the flames at the top of the design (v.16). Just below the sword are two keys. They are similar, yet different. They are the keys of Death and Hades which Christ holds in verse 18. The Bride of Christ, His body of believers, awaits Him on his right side.
