New Work- “Musings” Mixed Media

Welcome to my web site.  I paint watercolor, mixed media, and acrylic art.

My work is based on religious themes in a tradition that goes back thousands of years(i.e Leonardo da Vinci and Michaelanglo). I research symbolism, mostly Judeo-Christian, and incorporate these symbols into my paintings. Some pieces are more obviously religious in theme than others.  I enjoy the way that symbols can be interpreted in many different ways depending on the viewer, but I do create my pieces with a specific theme in mind. 
I like incorporating images from pop culture and juxtaposing traditional images with contemporary icons to comment on generational misunderstandings and reconciling the influences of the past with the trends of the present.  The work of David Salle and Salvador Dali have influenced the structure of my work and the way I communicate in my paintings.
